I'm a writer. Not an author, not yet -- but a writer.

I'm good at it. I'm getting better. I'm fighting with college (at age damn-near 42), arthritis and glaucoma while I fight to get better at writing -- makes for an interesting muddle, I have to say. But given the arthritis and glaucoma . . . I'd take a little more boredom, please?

Before the arthritis went nuts, I was a martial arts nut. Still am -- but now I beat people up with my cane. (A certain irony there, don't you think?) I love things related to Criminal Justice (my major), I'm interested in psychology, and I have a passion for heroes. Not the show, though I love it too -- no, just . . . heroes. Good guys. The guy who stands up for what's right -- just because it's right.

I read mostly science fiction, fantasy, suspense, mystery and a little horror, as well as comic book trade paperbacks. (You know, the books where they collect a story arc, and you get it all at once? Well . . . actually, after the debacle that was DC comics "Infinite Crisis," and the insanity that was their "52" -- and the aftereffects of the two -- I read ONLY "Ultimate Spider-man," now.)

Still make time around my writing obsession to play a tabletop RPG once a week. Tried and gave up on online text-based RPGs after realizing how many wangst-monkeys there are out there, and having what I thought was a friend go psycho on me over a freaking game.

I'm a rabid atheist, a seriously temperamental SOB, and more than a little cantankerous.

I'll blog randomly about writing, idiots, entertainment -- whatever the irritation of the moment is.

Oh, and I might as well piss off everyone, right?

Fanfiction, as a general rule, sucks. And the little bit of good that's out there? Not worth sorting through the terabytes of bad.
